Left 4 Dead 2 is a cooperative first-person shooter game. It is the sequel to the award winning Left 4 Dead. The games current release date is set for November 17, 2009, for Microsoft Window and the Xbox 360. Left 4 Dead 2 features a new cast of human survivors, which will include Coach, a high-school football coach with a bad knee; Rochelle, a news reporter for a local television station; Ellis, a mechanic; and Nick, a gambler and conman. In addition to the four playable characters, Left 4 Dead 2 also features a support character in the form of Virgil, a Cajun boat captain, who appears in the game's later three chapters. This differs from the original game, where NPCs made little more than a single appearance.

I found a tutorial on a forum on how to uncensor the Australian version of the L4D2 demo. Thanks to this man here for posting it on a forum I usuall go on: http://www.facepunch.com/member.php?u=181856

All you need to do is change TWO text files and you're set. You'll have to launch the game through the left4dead2.exe instead of through Steam. Steam will disconnect you immediately.

Find the first file called steam_appid.txt. It's located here:
\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2 demo

Open it and change 590 to 510, save it by doing Ctrl + S then close it. The next file is in: \Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2 demo\left4dead2

Look for steam.inf. Open it in Notepad and change 590 to 510. Then save the info.

REMEMBER: LAUNCH THE DEMO THROUGH THE .EXE LOCATED IN THE FOLDERS AND NOT THROUGH STEAM!

Left 4 Dead 2 Demo review

Okay, I just got back from playing the Left 4 Dead 2 Demo, and I have 4 words to say. IT-IS-THE-SHIT! The graphics were upgraded a little bit, not much, but it looks really nice, and runs really smooth. The weapon selection is a lot bigger, with a lot of new weapons, and the melee weapons are just awesome! Frying pan, machete, ELECTRIC GUITAR! I got a chance to use the AED (had to kill my own team mate to get to use it), and it's pretty cool. They also added an adrenaline needle to replace the pills. They also have a new weapons called bile, that contains vomit from a Boomer. When you throw it, it performs the same tast the the Boomer bile does in game.

The character models look nice, and the new special infected are really cool. The Hunter, Smoker, and Boomer all have updated skins, and look a lot more zombie like, and yes, there ARE female boomers.

The demo consists of 2 scenes from the Parish chapter, and they were really fun, I can't wait to play the full game.

I give this demo 5 out of 5 peelz.

If you didn't pre-order Left 4 Dead 2 already, I suggest you do it now.

There is a lot of commotion about what's going, I assure you that Valve is just trying to make sure this demo isn't broken when it's released. According to some connections I have and the Valve's group chat, Valve is currently play testing the Demo on different servers. I do not know the reasoning for different servers but there are a set number of play testers playing it as we speak.

From what I know, some of the play testers have finished testing. Some are STILL currently testing the game. From what I have heard from my connections, they are almost finished and once it's finished it will release.

Here's a word from Mike, the man I spoke to yesterday.

mike (3): We're making progress and hope to have some news soon.
mike (3): We're still aiming at a release today.

Everyone just chill out. Valve is just making sure the PC demo isn't broken. What would be the point in releasing a broken demo?

Okay, no one wants to read a wall of text right now, so I'll keep this short. There have been a lot of rumors flying around the Left 4 Dead 2 forums, and most of them are just trolls. Supposivly, there is no dedicated server problem. The Left 4 Dead 2 team just decided to do some last minute (or should I say hour) game testing, and they're fixing some glitches that were included in the demo. They have said that they are trying to release the demo within the limits of today (Valve time that is). Just be calm guys, it'll be comnig soon.

I think most people already noticed but a LOT of people keep talking about cut scenes in the game. They say this based on the scenes seen in the new leaked trailer:

Looking at the clips in the leaked trailer, it clearly shows loads of spots in the game/ chapters itself. That already proves these are not cutscenes.

Arguments: If these are all so called cutscenes, we wll see one cutscene after playing the game for 5 minutes.

- How can there be a cutscene if Maybe one character dies. if someone dies, how can there be a cutscene with the guy alive in it ?

- If the above thing would be true, that there are cutscenes, like the lcips from the leaked trailer, it would mean that IF one survivor dies, they all have to start all over again. Except if Valve made LOADS of cutscenes.

Again, I HIGHLY doubt if these cutscenes are little intro movies before each campaign. since they show areas within the campaign itself. An intro movie cant show areas that will be visited in the campaign.

The New Boycott Group is not a Threat but..

You all propably heard of new the L4D2 boycott group 2. Dekland seemed not to understand what closing a boycott group means. Instead of giving up, he continues the Boycott.

Over 30,000 boycotter members are not happy about the fact that the 1st boycott group is closed. Yet, when they find out of this New boycott group, they will massively join the Boycott Crusade part II.

As I notice is that Walking_target and Agent ( old boycott admins) are trying to hide this group.

The problems that could be created when old boycott members find this new official boycott group:

1: A New flame wars will be started on the forums and in chat rooms.

2: Games such as Team fortress 2 can be ruined by endless discussions between l4d2 lovers and boycotters.

3: Some boycotters may buy l4d2 and will ruin games on it to show their rage.

4: In the worst case Valve could take the group serious. Which is bullshit. Boycotters need to understand that DLC"s normally cost money in this world of buisness.

The Left 4 Dead 2 demo will feature gameplay taken from "The Parish" campaign, set in the New Orleans French Quarter. It seems Valve revealed more of Left 4 Dead 2 than it meant to while blowing out the game's new Scavenge mode, as 1UP took note of an option for "realism mode."

"That's a special modifier that we forgot to hide for this demo," explained Valve's Chet Faliszek, with marketing VP Doug Lombardi then describing it rather vaguely:

"Take Portal for example: We had our best internal players who could blow through that game in about 30 minutes, but within weeks of launching it we had people on YouTube beating [the testers'] times by 10 minutes or more. Realism is for those players."

Gamevideos revealed the new gamemode.
It is called:"Scavenge." Two teams. Survivors and Infected. In the middle of the map is a generator.. it needs to be filled up. 16 gas cans are hidden everywhere. you and your team got 1 minute and 30 seconds to find as much gas cans and fill up the generator.
The Infected team tries obviously, to stop the survivors. The team that filled the generator with the most gas cans, wins.

Left4dead2 Demo coming October 27

The promised downloadable sample for Valve's zombie shooter sequel will arrive on October 27, the company confirmed tonight at an Electronic Arts event in Japan.

No other details were mentioned, leaving it unclear as to if that date applies to everyone or just those that pre-order. However, a listing from retailer game.co.uk notes "[the Xbox 360] demo will be exclusive to preorder customers up until 3rd November."

Valve previously said those who pre-ordered from "participating retailers or Steam" would snag "advanced access to the demo," with the company later adding that pre-ordering folk would also receive an exclusive melee weapon: the American baseball bat.

The PC and Xbox 360 game is due November 17. We're checking in for more details, including whether or not PC and Xbox 360 will get the demo on the same day.

Left4dead2 Chainsaw spotted!

Thanks to 1337_noob. He found a picture of someone wielding a chainsaw and a ( french ) interview showing some small parts of someone using a chainsaw. Yet the dude with the camara got, like the boycotters, no braincells and just pass the player using one.

Atleast we can see a bit of this awesome melee weapon. The video is french so just put off your sound if u dont understand french.

Valve confirmed a new weapon. Its the Deagle. People who played counter strike etc, will know the true power of this weapon.

At PAX, valve revealed more about the campaign: Dark Carnival. The Uncommon common infected special for this campaign is the Clown. (already known). His special ability? Attracting Hordes.( like the screamer??).

Clowns, A Dark carnival and now .... maybe the 3rd new special infected confirmed by valve? Not many people know it so far but it seems that play testers have seen the 3rd new SI.

It seemed that this SI was supposed to be a suprise for Penny Arcades Expo.
This play tester is saying its called the Jockey.
A male infected. Wearing a colorfull shirt with diamond shapes accros the middle of his shirt.
Nothing exotic, just like a mental assylum case zombie. He seems to jump up with decent height. Nothing like the hunter though.
He can jump onto your back, and then you can't control your character anymore like being incapped, only instead of being stuck on the ground, or being hung by a smoker, he can force you to tumble away in any direction he wants while he is on you.
Oh and he got a very weird distinct laugh.

If its true or not. The only truth will be revealed on PAX or by Valve later this year.

* The Play testers didnt call him actually annoying or anything. The playtester talking about it ( the link ) said he was never hit by one.

'L4D2 Spitter ‘invented’ by L4D2 Boycotter', an article reads. Sounds like bull s!@# to me. I highly doubt that Valve stole an idea from the L4D2 Boycott. Two things:

1.) Valve has been working on this game, since the relase of L4D. I'm pretty sure Valve already had most of the game in the works, including weapons, and the new special infect. The idea for the Spitter was already there, just not annouced yet. Look at the L4D forums, you have tons of people, posting tons of ideas. Some one is bound to post an idea that already exists. They also said that the idea of the Charger was 'stolen' from another fan as well. Well, if you ask me, the Charge is basically like the Tanks hillbilly cousin.

2.) Common sense: If you're going to write a book, do you go onto the internet and post your idea for the book on the forums, so everyone can look at it, and steal your idea? NO! Well, if this idea was really yours, and it was that precious to you, why did you annouce it to the public? Why else do people post ideas on the forums? Hoping that a literary agent will pop up, and say, "Hey! That's a great idea!" If Valve did steal your idea, who cares, be happy that your zombie idea will be included in their newest video game. Unless you were going to create your own zombie game, where the Spitter was going to be on the special infected, in which case you shouldn't of exposed your idea to the public to be stolen in the first place.

They also say that the Spitter should be added to the origonal L4D, to fix some ingame problems. Hey, Boycott, get used to it, L4D2 is coming out. And they're not going to add all of the weapons, and new special infected to the origonal game either. If you want them so much, go buy the new game when it comes out.

Since the revealed campaign: Swamp Fever, valve also revealed new types of infected and weapons.

So far we got a new uncommon common infected.

This one will be only for the Swamp Fever campaign. They are called: The mudmen.
They walk on both hands and feet and run towards you in the middle of the horde. As soon you get hit by one, your vision will be covered in mud.

Valve also revealed a second Special Infected called : The Spitter.

It is a female zombie. She looks quite creepy comparing to the other zombies. She will cause panic among camping survivors. She storms into the group and leaves an area of radation like stuff that keeps growing. Survivors will take damage as long as they are in this small area. This most likely will cause panic and the group will split up.

Then the new revealed weapons.

The Frying pan, the crickit bat, the ak-47 and the Grenade launcher. and valve is far from done yet.

Valve will release atleast 1 more special infected. Maybe 2.

Hopefully valve reveals more stuff between now and november....

Plus one more uncommons for the parish, bulletproof police riots, killable only by molos, explosions, melee or from behind.

Valve Reveals second Left4dead 2 campaign: Swamp Fever

Valve revealed the second campaign for left4dead 2, called: 'Swamp Fever'. This one will be shown and playable during Comic-Con in San Diego. The game will be playable in the EA Gaming Lounge Presented by Xbox 360 from 2-9 pm Thursday-Saturday, and 12-5 pm on Sunday

Valve will also reveal more of the 20 + weapons in left4dead 2.

So we can expect more gameplay vids from another awesome campaign!
